Former Trengweath Hospital, Redruth

A full planning application is currently being prepared by Amicura Redruth for the redevelopment of the former Trengweath Hospital site to form a 52-bed care home, specialist care unit and over 55’s residential accommodation. The proposals will bring the site back into active use and provide a high-quality care facility to benefit the local community.

Key features of the proposals:

o Demolition of Trengweath Hospital and erection of bespoke 52 bed care home on its footprint;

o Refurbishment of, and extension to, Trengweath House to be used as a Specialist Care Facility;

o Refurbishment of Trengweath Cottage to be used as staff accommodation;

o Construction of two apartment blocks reserved for over 55’s residential accommodation;

o Reinstatement of soft landscaping across the site and retention of existing trees;

o Retention of existing site access and one-way traffic route through the site;

o Provision of staff, visitor and resident car parking on site, including electric vehicle charging

o Bringing the disused site back into use, creating community benefits and jobs to the local area.

We would welcome any comments on the proposals by 17th July at the latest
