A full planning application is being prepared for submission to Peterborough City Council for a new medical facility on land at Thorpe Wood, adjacent to Worldwide House.
The development is designed to provide important services to assist with excessive demand in the local health system and support the local health economy in the reduction of elective care and early diagnosis and intervention of medical conditions. The facility will be for day-cases only, and will include a theatre suite and recovery space, MRI and CT Diagnostics, and an outpatients suite.
The proposed building will be single storey in height, with plant space at first floor, as shown on the submitted floor plans. The proposals will utilise the existing private access from Thorpe Wood which currently serves Worldwide House and David Lloyd's, and dedicated car parking will be provided for 142 cars, including disabled parking provision, electric vehicle charging bays and dedicated cycle parking.
