ELG Planning have assisted Minstercare in securing planning permission for the redevelopment of their Ideal Care Home site in Bicton Heath, Shrewsbury.  The proposals involve the partial demolition of the existing home, which the Council considered was a non-designated heritage asset and we were successfully able to demonstrate that the improvements to the amenity of residents and other benefits would outweigh the loss of the existing building.

The scheme had previously been refused by delegated powers for a number of reasons, but with a revised design and a thorough analysis of the local plan policies, the revised application was recommended for approval, and approved by planning committee.
