ELG Planning, with the assistance of ELG Heritage, secured planning permission for a new 227 bed aparthotel alongside a 225 space underground car park on the site of the existing Park Street car park. Acting for Marick Management Ltd and Cambridge Investment Partnership, ELG were extensively involved in the development of the scheme from its initial conception through to the preparation and submission of the planning application, providing planning and heritage support. Located in the centre of historic Cambridge, the site is heavily constrained and presented many challenges namely around heritage and urban design.
Planning permission was granted in December 2019 and works commenced in 2022 with the new car park to open in 2024 and the aparthotel opening to follow in 2025.
